What are the odds that an M340i front clip will fit on the new M3...?

I’d guess 100%

They aren’t going to change mounting points for those types of things for trim levels.

I sure hope you’re right!

E90 M3 and 3-series sedan did have different fascias (the M3 had the coupe-style headlights).

Worried it’ll look like this ?

No idea if they’ll be different, but they might be. The chassis classification for the regular 3-series and the M3 split with the current generation (F30/F80).

The M3 usually uses the coupe front end, so it would have to be from a 4-series... Should fit, I'd wager,  as long as the M car isn’t wider at the front than the standard one!

Just found that the F80 is about 1.5" wider than the F30, and that will probably continue with the G80, so... probably won’t work.

I can definitely see the aftermarket making some good money off making a front bumper that uses the M340i grilles, though.

Yeah, that definitely leaves the door wide open to offer a styling correction.

I’m hoping I can bag an   F82 when this virus situation smooths out, though. I really don’t like the pig nose lol

I’m convinced the G82 will look pretty much like this, but I’m holding out hope that the sedan will be more conservatively styled. I think that the sedan shown in this post is an EV and not the M3 (blue Bimmerang, closed grille, aero wheels).

Nah, my man, the sedan leaked! They’ll both have the exact same front end:

As an E90 M3 owner, I may just have to hold on to the old girl for another few years until my oldest is shuttling his siblings and I can widen my search to 2-door sports cars. Not the worst fate! =)

You’re definitely in a better spot than  me! I’ve been following the F8x since it came out, only finally being able to afford one this year. I managed to score one of the last allocations for a MY20 F82, which is supposed to be built in a week or two, before they go out of production for good. Given I had been set on Euro-Deliverying an M4 for a while now, I was pretty stoked.

A couple weeks after leaving my deposit, the dealer tells me that BMW doesn’t want to build another competition package + manual car... They don’t even want to take orders for the last couple build slots (one of which I secured), opting to just slap together common options and colors, and fire them out to dealers w/o chance of ED (virus or not).

I’m just waiting for ‘my’ car to actually be built before taking my deposit back. I’ll have to take my chances with whatever’ll be on dealer lots, once this corona situation crystalizes.

It can all still end up working out, but I still can’t help but feel disappointed by it all - especially given what the MY21 will look like lol

Oh, damn! Sorry to hear it... If you can’t get “your” car, you’ll just have to buy the closest spec to what you wanted used, and take the savings to take an epic European trip (with awesome an rental).

I bought my ‘08 in 2012, 125k miles on her now. Great car.

There’s also a small handful of manual MY20s across the country with the comp pkg, particularly on the east coast ... I wouldn’t mind nabbing one of those and driving it all the way west. A North American Delivery of sorts hehe

But yeah, we’ll see   what’s available late summer, and what the situation will be like by then.

Either way, my plan is to get something I can easily take on a long road trip, and then tear up some twisty roads when I get there. Hopefully I can enjoy it  at least as long as you’ve enjoyed yours!

Good luck on your hunt.

Considering the miles and hard-earned rock chips from a life well-lived, my car is worth way more to me than I could get selling it. I could see it staying in the stable for the long haul.
